Domestic Short Hair - Black - Mamas - Medium - Young - Female
Mamas (Axxxxxxxx0) is 1-2 years old and loves everyone and everything. She has another name, but we prefer to call her Mamas because she's a mother to all. She grooms anyone who will sit still long enough. She even goes looking for the baby when she hears one cry on TV! Mamas loves to sit next to you (not keen sitting *on* laps) and get all the pets and scratches she can! Oh boy, does she ever love the face scratch! She likes to sleep at the end of the bed and promises not to sleep on your face. Mamas is very outgoing and likes to know what's going on (probably to make sure you're safe), at nap time she takes herself away to quiet spot. In between times you're likely to find her at the window, making sure the neighbourhood is safe. Mamas has lived with low-energy dogs before (loves them, too!) She currently live with other cats, including a grumpy old cat who she is convinced she can make him like her! Mamas loves her foster brother Mikey and the two make a great team. They play well and are wonderful companions to one another and their humans. Mamas looks out for her little pal Mikey and it would be great to be able to keep them together. The adopter who takes both will receive all their toys, litter box, carrier and a huge cat tree! Mamas (& Mikey) is healthy, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, has been altered and microchipped and up-to-date on all shots. To learn more about Mamas please email her foster mom at [email removed] There is an application process and a small adoption fee that goes directly to the shelter. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS CAT PLEASE EMAIL [email removed] or [email removed] . Are you interested in one of the cats at ACCT? If so Great! First, decide if you are interested in fostering or adopting! To determine whether you should apply to foster versus adopt, please consider the following information: -To adopt a cat means to commit to being the primary caregiver for the cat and keep it in your possession, for yourself for the rest of its life. Adult cats are $50 to adopt, kittens (under 6 months old) are $75- that donation covers the vaccines, microchip, surgery, etc that the cat has received. - To foster a cat means to commit to temporarily caring for the cat while also working to find the dog a forever home/adopter. While fostering the cat remains ACCTs property, but the foster parent takes responsibility for marketing the cat, and doing a preliminary screening of any potential adopters. When an adopter is found, the foster parent must coordinate with the ACCT Life Saving office to approve the adopter and finalize the adoption. If the foster parent decides after time that they would like to keep the cat, they must complete the adoption process and pay the adoption fee. ** Fostering is not a trial adoption.** More about fostering: Although previous fostering experience is not required, ideal foster care provider will have basic knowledge of animal care and training and be committed to finding their foster animal a safe and loving forever home. As a foster care provider, you will provide the animals with care including, food, water, shelter, training, grooming and medical treatment when necessary. ACCT will provide clinic and vet care, behavior and training resources, and adoption counseling. We rely on the foster parent to find an adoptive home for the cat, but we can help! We provide adoption events for you attend, can post your foster cat on Petfinder for you, etc. We cannot guarantee how long a foster cat will be in your care, since you keep the cat until an adoptive home is found, which can be anywhere from 2 weeks to a few months depending on the cat, and how heavily you market it.
